What a real firm’s page would include

A law firm regulated in England and Wales would normally set out:

• Regulator details: the firm’s legal name and structure, its registered office, its company or LLP number where relevant, and a statement that it is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, with its SRA number.
• The SRA digital badge: a badge on the website that links to the firm’s entry on the SRA register, so visitors can check it is regulated.
• Professional conduct rules: a note that the firm is bound by the SRA Standards and Regulations, with a pointer to where they can be read.
• Professional indemnity insurance: details of the firm’s insurer and the territorial coverage of its policy.
• Complaints: how to complain to the firm, and the client’s right to take an unresolved complaint to the Legal Ombudsman.
• Pricing and service information: for certain services, information about costs and the scope of the work, as the SRA transparency rules require.

Checking a real firm
