Our approach
How we work with every client.
Six commitments that shape each matter, personal or commercial, from the first call to long after it is resolved.
The process
Our commitments
Listening first
The first conversation is about understanding what has happened and what you want to achieve. We ask questions before we offer answers, and we tell you early if we are not the right fit.
A clear plan and a clear price
Before work starts, you receive a letter setting out what we will do, who will do it, the likely timescale and how costs are calculated. If something changes, we tell you before it affects the bill.
Advice you can act on
We set out the realistic options, the risks and trade-offs of each, and our recommendation. You make the decision with a full view of what it means.
Steady communication
You will know who is handling your matter and how to reach them. We agree how often you would like updates, and we return calls and emails promptly.
Resolution, not escalation
In disputes, we look for the most proportionate route to a good result. Negotiation and mediation often achieve more, for less, than going to court, though we are ready when court is necessary.
After the matter closes
We keep careful records, so when your circumstances change, whether that is a new will, a business sale or a lease renewal, the context is already understood.
On costs
We explain how costs will be charged at the outset, whether by fixed fee, agreed stages or time spent, and we give you an estimate in writing. We are happy to discuss costs on the first call.
Make an enquiry
Start with a conversation.
Tell us briefly what has happened and what you would like to achieve. There is no obligation, and we will be straightforward about whether we are the right people to help.
We read your enquiry
A member of the relevant team reviews it, usually within one working day.
A short, no-obligation call
We ask a few questions, explain how we could help and outline the likely next steps.
Clear terms before any work
If you would like to go ahead, we confirm the scope, who will handle it and the costs in writing.
